Cute Baby Booties – Free pattern for Stricklinge bootees

What you need for these baby bootees:

  • Yarn – sport/dk 130-150 yd (125 m/50g) 50% Cotton, 50% Acrylic, white and another color
  • Gauge – 22 stitches, 28 rows = 4“/10 cm
    I used this yarn: rico baby cotton soft dk
  • Needle – US 4 – 6 or 3.5 – 4mm a short circular needle and 2 needles from DPN
  • white shoelaces 0,7 yd (60 cm)

Start at the sole with garter stitch

cast on 30 stiches in white yarn;
row 1: k30;
row 2: kfb, k12, kfb, k1, kfb, k12, kfb, k1;
row 3: k34;
row 4: k1, kfb, k12, kfb, k3, kfb, k12, kfb, k2;
row 5: k38;
row 6: k2, kfb, k12, kfb, k5, kfb, k12, kfb, k3;
row 7: k42;
row 8: k3, kfb, k12, kfb, k7, kfb, k12, kfb, k4;
row 9 – 11: k46, break off yarn;
row 12 – 15: alternate color k46 in colour yarn;
row 16: p46;
row 17: k18, kfb, leave these 20 remaining stitches unworked as well as the 19 stitches from the other side.

Just above the 8 center stitches for the shoe tongue, carry on knitting with the other needle.
row 1: kfb, k6, kfb = 10 st;
row 2: k1; p8; k1;
row 3: k10;
row 4 – 16: alternate row 2 and 3;
row 17: k2tog, k6, k2tog;
row 18: bo 8, cut yarn, weave in end.

Pattern for Baby Booties

Carry on with the 19 remaining stitches you left unworked.
row 1: kfb, k18, and over the back middle, the heel, the 20 st from other side k;
row 2: k1, p38, k1;
row 3: k40;
row 4: k1, p38, k1;
row 5: k2, k2tog, k32, SKP, k2;
row 4 and 5 repeat five times (to row 5: in the middle are every next row 2 stiches less);
last backside row k st bind off, cut yarn, weave in end.

Close the bottom and back seam. Put in the shoelaces.

    I love your little bootees but I have never used a circular needle before would you please explain the abbreviations.
    Kfb – does that mean knit into the back of the next stitch ?
    SKP- ?

    I have search for a knittin pattern for a baby „converse“ for long time, and finaly i found it..
    But can someone help me what kind of „knittingstich“ you mean with:
    k
    kfb
    k2tog, and so on
    Im from Sweden and have never knitting from a pattern from English language

    I searched and searched for booties like this on the Internet and all patterns were so wrong, too big, too small, funny sizes and now I found yours and it is great! I made these booties for my grandchild and they are wonderfull.
